Going Out Chester

If you are going out in Chester, you will be pleasantly surprised at just how much is on offer, both by day and by night. Place to eat, places to drink, place to relax, places of history and plenty of places for entertainment.

Many of the attractions in Chester are completely free and can be seen simply by walking around the city, but there are plenty of other things to see and do as well, whether its entertainment or relaxation that you are looking for.

The Grosvenor museum is a great place to unearth all that fascinating Chester history with exhibitions, galleries and educational facilities.

The world famous Chester Zoo is just a few minutes away by car or by bus and in 2007 was listed by Forbes as being in the top 15 zoos in the world! It’s also regarded as the biggest zoo in the UK and if you like animals and zoos, then this really is a treat of a day out, with literally loads to see. In fact you might want a second visit to make sure you have seen all it has to offer.

Ten Pin Bowling Chester - Over on the Greyhound Retail Park, again, just a few minutes from the city centre, you will find plenty to entertain the whole family, with places to eat and relax before winding yourself up again for an ultra competitive game of ten pin bowling. As well as the bowling lanes, there are pool tables, some amusements and places to pick up a bite to eat, alongside a fully licensed bar. Will you be the first to get a strike?!

If you then need to wind down again after you have been victorious, the Chester cinema might be the perfect place. With multiple screens showing the latest 2D and 3D films it’s just right for catching up with your favourite Hollywood stars.

If you like your entertainment outdoors, there’s plenty to see and do around the City, with plenty on offer to keep the kids entertained too.

If you are in town on a match day, why not check out the resurgent Chester City FC down at the Deva Stadium. If you get hooked on the football you may even want to get a season ticket!

Of course, during the summer months, you can’t be in Chester and not notice that the races are in town. It’s a popular and prestigious race meeting on the calendar and a real chance to pick a winner on a great day out.
