Garden Chester

Not only are there plenty of lovely gardens in Chester and the surrounding areas but there are also plenty of gardening contractors, garden centres and other places where you can get hold of all your essentials for the garden.

There is never a shortage of things to do in the garden and much of it involves plenty of hard graft, from weeding, lawn mowing, fencing, trimming the hedges, laying new turf and landscaping. Many of us simply don’t have the time to dedicate to the garden, as much as we would love to, so we may sometimes need to employ professional gardeners in Chester to help us out with the all important work.

If we are set on doing the work ourselves, then very often we will need to find a reliable garden centre in Chester or other stores that provide all of the equipment, tools and seeds that we will need for our gardens to be in full bloom come the spring and summer of each year.

There are some beautiful Chester gardens to enjoy too as you take some time out from shopping to explore the city a little bit. Just a short walk from the city centre and the hub where all the main shops are and you will find yourself in Grosvenor Park, a delightful place full of walkways surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers as well as some open grassy areas to enjoy a picnic in the summer months. Perhaps May, June and July are the best times to enjoy the park in its full splendour.

Also in the summer, the Park plays host to an open air theatre where you can enjoy evening performances of some of Shakespeare’s favourites. Once you have strolled through the park, you could find yourself by the River Dee for an enjoyable stroll or even a boat ride. Restaurants and cafes are on hand for food and drink refuelling should you need it.

You can take an alternative route back to the city centre, by walking along the Roman city walls, finally descending some steps by the famous Eastgate clock. From here it’s just a couple of minutes to one of Chester’s other main jewels, the cathedral.

Taking care of your lawns and garden may be a little more full on in the summer but it’s really an all year round job to keep it looking its best, so there are always jobs that need doing and equipment you need, to keep your garden in Chester in tip top shape.

Of course, the task can not only be time consuming but also a strain on the pocket, with many of the gardening essentials not coming cheap, so why not register for a Chester Savers Card.
